I am running out of birthday cards in my stash so I decided to create a birthday card with the wonderfully bright colors from the Color Throwdown challenge and combined it with the Deconstructed Sketch challenge.  I love the brightness and I hope it will make someones day!

PPA 168 - Trick or Treat

I am on a Halloween kick!  When I first saw this sketch I immediately thought flowers.  I made a bunch of cards last week with flowers and showed them to a coworker and she said they looked like they were for old ladies.  It was because of the color choices (from color challenges) not the flowers.  Regardless, I didn't want to make a futty-dutty card.  So, since I had all of my Halloween supplies out I thought I would go with a Halloween theme.  Going with that thought process, I switched to pumpkins.  I thought the Jack of All Trades stamp set would be perfect for my pumpkin theme.  I later realized I don't have to many Halloween sentiments.  I went into the archives and pulled out some wooden stamp sets, I found the Trick or Treat sentiment in a set called Holiday Best, the stamp had never been used.  Believe it or not, I stamped the stems in black ink on a tiny green scrap I had on the table.  It is just dark enough for me to cut out the stem shape.  It's official, the black has died!

Stampin' Up! Supplies Used:
Stamp: Jack of All Trades, Holiday Best
Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Tangerine Tango, Basic Black
Paper: Pumpkin Pie, Tangerine Tango, Basic Black, & Spellbound: Last Words (Scrapworks), Scraps
Embossing Powder: Black

Googly Eyes

I saw this sketch from Freshly Made Sketches last week and attempted to make an owl themed card one weeknight.  It didn't turn out as good as I had hoped.  This morning I woke up early and decided to organize my craft room.  We bought our house three months ago and I still have a few boxes tucked away in a few rooms.  My craft room still had four boxes to unpack so I finally took care of them.  Of course I didn't finish putting everything away before I got distracted and decided to make some cards.  I came back to the sketch and decided to go with a Halloween theme.

We were out shopping the other night and every store had Halloween stuff out.  My husband kept saying, "Do people know it's still August?" He just so happens to love Halloween so he spent forever looking at all the Halloween stuff.  He is so goofy.

So, I pull out all of my Halloween stuff... and I am overwhelmed.  Because the hubby likes Halloween, I have apparently stocked up on all crafty things Halloween-y.  I made a witch card using the sketch and when I was done I decided a second grader probably could have been more creative.  So, here it is, take three of my Freshly Made Sketch card.  During this production, I found out that my black ink has died, which is very inconvenient when making Halloween themed cards and a key color is BLACK!

I continued to stamp all of my images in black and then decided that my BOOOO was fading off the paper, I gave in and just colored it in so you could actually read the sentiment.  My husband loves all the eyeballs, I hope you like it too.

Aspen Greetings

My friend bought me this aspen template for my birthday and I have finally decided to break it in.  I didn't really know how to use this template so I just sponged in the image.  I didn't want to cover up the aspens too much and then I found the sketch for CAS(E) this sketch and decided to just stamp a sentiment in the middle and keep it simple.  I kind of like it!

Dynamic Duos #65

This card is inspired by the color challenge from Dynamic Duos this week.  I honestly didn't have any plan when I started to make this card, I just grabbed a piece of cardstock in each color and went from there to get this end result.  I am actually quite please with the result.  I had used the Serene Silhouettes stamp for another card today and then realized that I had used each stamp from that set except this particular image so I decided to break her in.

Stampin' Up! Supplies Used:
Stamp: Serene Silhouettes, Best of Butterflies, Lots of Thanks
Ink: Blushing Bride, Pistachio Pudding
Cardstock: Blushing Bride, Pistachio Pudding, Whisper White
Punch: Elegant Butterfly, Bitty Butterfly
Edgelits: Adorning Accents
Paper Piercing: Essentials

Smarty Pants

My roommate from college graduated earlier this summer from vet school.  I even saw her in person in Portland when I attended a conference for work on short notice.  Yet, I have not send her a graduation card and gift.  So, when I saw these challenges I decided to combine them and finally make a graduation card.  It is kind of masculine but still rather cute.

Color Throwdown #253

I love the bright, summer colors of this weeks Color Throwdown Challenge.  I bought this stamp set a few years ago and haven't used it as much as I would have liked.  So, today I dusted it off and stamped and embossed the images, then painted them in with LuminArte paints.  To switch things up I used glitter for the bees wings.  I am pretty awful at tying a bow as you can see, this was the best bow of about 20 tries.

PPA 166

I love these three colors together, for some reason, it was difficult for me to actually blend them together on a card.  I wanted to use old stuff I've had laying around for a while and combine it with my new goodies.  I kind of went crazy buying washi tape last year and then never really used any of it.  So, I finally used some of my washi on this card over the Daffodil Delight cardstock.  I kind of like it.

Stampin' Up! Supplies:
Stamp: Yippee-Skippee!
Cardstock: Strawberry Slush, Daffodil Delight, Smoky Slate, Whisper White
Ink: Strawberry Slush
Candy Dots: Brights
Punch: Owl
Embossing Folder: Honeycomb
Framelits: Apothecary Accents
Other Goodies from My Stash: Washi Tape; Border Punch (EK Success)
